NX6550 Collegiate Colours (RFU)

Evolution NX6550 Collegiate Colours are a series of 24 ready-for-use, high-opacity colours in the reformulated Evolution NX System of PVC-free textile inks. These easy-printing inks provide excellent results when printed on both manual and automatic presses and are formulated to be printed by themselves on 100% cotton, dark fabrics or over the appropriate Defender dye blocker and Evolution white on 50/50 poly/cotton blends and 100 polyester fabrics.

 

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Mesh—110 to 355 t/in. (43 to 140 t/cm.) mesh is recommended. A print/flash/print technique may be required or even multiple screens with flashes after each to reach desired opacity.

Stencil—Any stencil compatible with plastisol inks.

Squeegee—70 durometer or 70/90/70 provide excellent results.

Print Technique—Because of the lower viscosity of inks in the Evolution NX System multiple screens may be necessary with flashes between each screen to achieve desired results. Also, when printing on dark fabrics of 100% cotton a white underbase may be necessary to achieve true colour accuracy. On dark fabrics of 50/50 cotton/poly blends or 100% polyester it will be necessary to first underbase with appropriate Defender dye blocker, flash and then print white underneath the NX6550 Collegiate Colours to achieve colour accuracy.

Gel Temperature—NX6550 Collegiate Colours gel when the surface of the ink reaches 220º -240º Fahrenheit/110º-120ºCelsius.

Curing—When printing on 100% cotton fabrics NX6550 Collegiate Colours fully cure when the entire ink film reaches 310°-320° F (155°- 160° C) for 45 seconds to 1 minute inside the dryer. NX6550 Collegiate Colours do not offer any bleed-resistance. On dark-coloured 50/50 cotton/poly blends or 100% polyester fabrics dye migration may be controlled by lowering dryer temperature to 275° Fahrenheit (135°-137° Celsius) for two minutes. However, if printed on dark-coloured 50/50 cotton/poly blends or 100% polyester fabrics known for dye migration should be underbased with the appropriate Evolution Defender dye blocker.

Modification—Prior to filling screen ink should be thoroughly stirred to break down any false body that has built up during storage. If necessary small amounts (1-3% maximum) of NX6390 Viscosity Reducer may be added till desired viscosity is attained.

Ink Cleanup—Use Enviro Series 2000 Green or Enviro Series TR Blend.

Storage—Store at temperatures less than 30°C/84°F. Extended storage in warmer conditions can cause inks to thicken.

Colours—Burnt Orange, Kelly Green, Maroon, Cardinal Red, Chrome Green, Columbia Blue, Deep Purple, Grey, Navy, Orange, Royal Blue, Bright Royal Blue, Scarlet Red, Bright Scarlet Red, Blazer Gold, Light Orange, Texas Orange, Collegiate Golden Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Vegas Gold, Aqua, Michigan Yellow, Gold, Dark Brown.

CAUTION
Always test finished prints for color accuracy, curing, adhesion, opacity, crocking, stretch and desired look prior to beginning full production runs. Lancer Group International cannot guarantee the results or back claims that this ink will test PVC-free or phthalate-free if any pigment or additive other than an Evolution Pigment Concentrate or Evolution NX System additive that has been manufactured by Lancer Group International is used in this ink. Contamination can also occur from mixing tools, mixing buckets, spatulas, squeegees, or flood bars that have had prior contact with inks containing PVC’s or phthalates and these tools must be thoroughly cleaned before using with the NX System.
