Glimmering Prints that have the look of Silver Foil. Screen print onto lights and darks with no underbase. When screen printed, Quicksilver Textile Ink is very shiny and has characteristics of a silver foil. Quicksilver is ideal for both light and dark fabrics and can be screen printed onto most types of garments/fabrics. The strongest characteristic of Quicksilver is that it is very opaque and does not require an underbase.
Technical Information
Screen Mesh: 80/inch (32T cm) is recommended. 110/inch (44T cm) may be also used.
Stencil: Most types of stencils may be used for screen printing Quicksilver Textile Inks.
Curing: Will fully heat cure at 320°F (160°C) – 350°F (177°C).
Caution: Curing times will increase greatly because of the reflectiveness of the ink. A 14ft. or longer dryer should be used. The cured print should resist cracking. If print is undercured poor washability may result. The Quicksilver print may also be cured by covering the design with a teflon sheet and heat pressing using light pressure for 12 – 15 seconds.
Reducer: Add (1-3%) of 502 Viscosity Reducer if required.
Squeegee: Medium Durometer squeegee is recommended.
Application: Flood the screen with Quicksilver and print with medium squeegee pressure using a medium durometer squeegee. Semi-cure the print through a dryer, cover the print with a teflon sheet and heat seal for 12 – 15 seconds.
Ventilation: Work area should be well ventilated.
Ink Cleanup: Use Enviro Series 2000 Green or Enviro Series TR Blend.
