Excalibur’s 825PF Foam Grip Series contains a base to pigment for making special colours and a ready-for use black and white ink that produce prints with a “non-slip” surface. When combined with thick stencils and screen printed with a thick ink film the ink produces prints that have a slightly raised “foam” appearance. This ink produces prints that will have a sticky, “non-slip” surface and high stretch making this an excellent ink for printing on the palms of gloves, the bottoms of socks as well as on stretchy fabrics such as lycra or spandex. The base can be mixed with Excalibur Pigment Concentrates to mix Pantone colours, Excalibur standard colours and custom colours.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

• Produces a non-slip surface on prints that enhances the grip on the palms of gloves and bottoms of socks a.k.a. “footies”
• Fully cured prints will have excellent stretch for printing on acrylic fabrics or fabrics containing lycra or spandex.
• Completely phthalate-free and lead-free formulation complies with all standards of Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) banning phthalates and heavy metals in textile-printing inks.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Mixing Colours With Foam Grip Base: For optimum results a 10% pigment load is recommended. While a maximum of 15% pigment concentrate can be added beware that higher pigment loads will diminish the special effect and properties of the ink and could cause the prints to crock.

Mesh: Use 60-110/inch (24T-42T cm) screen mesh.

Squeegee: 70 durometer or 70/90/70 triple durometer squeegees are recommended.

Stencils: Thick stencils produced with direct emulsions or capillary films produce the best results.

Printing Method: Use light squeegee pressure in order to “puddle” the ink on the surface of the fabric. Too much squeegee pressure will drive the plastisol ink into the fabric resulting in a poor foaming effect.

Curing: Because of the ink film thickness of prints 825PF colours will take longer to heat cure than regular plastisol inks. A full cure is achieved at 300°-320°F (150°-160°C) for 1 ½ -2 minutes. Fully cured prints should feel foamy and tacky as well as stretching, retracting and resisting rub-off after curing.

Ink Cleanup: Use Enviro Series 2000 Green or Enviro Series TR Blend.

Storage: 825PF Foam Grip Base or colours created with this base and pigment concentrates should be stored at temperatures less than 30°C/84°F. Extended storage in warmer conditions can cause inks to thicken.

Colours: Mixing Base, Black, White

CAUTION

Always test finished prints for curing, adhesion and desired look prior to beginning full production runs. Lancer Group International cannot guarantee the results or back claims that this mixed ink will test phthalate-free if any additive other than an additive manufactured by Lancer Group International is used to modify this ink. Test results by a third-party laboratory verifying all components used to produce this ink are phthalate-free and lead-free are available upon request.
