HSA – High Stretch Additive

Excalibur’s HSA High-Stretch Additive when added in increments of 5-20% by weight to many Excalibur’s phthalate-free plastisol inks increases the stretch of designs printed on stretchy fabrics. Caution should be taken because amounts over 5% may reduce opacity and cause a shift in the colour. Do not add High-Stretch Additive to Excalibur 700PF Series Inks because the clarity of the metallic base will "cloud" and the reflectivity of the glitter and metallic particles will be greatly reduced.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
• Increases elongation or stretch of ink film to help resist cracking when design is printed on high stretch fabrics.
• Completely phthalate-free and lead-free formulation complies with all standards of Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) banning phthalates and heavy metals in textile-printing inks.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Gel Temperature: Ink will gel on surface at 240° F (116° C).
Curing: Ink film will fully cure when the entire ink film reaches 320° F (160° C.) and held at this temperature for at least 15 seconds.
Mesh: For direct printing a 60-156/inch (24T-60Tcm) may be used. Coarser meshes will yield thicker ink films providing a higher stretch in the printed design.
Stencil: Any emulsion compatible with plastisol inks.
Modification: Because over time during storage plasitisol inks can body up or appear thicker, always stir ink prior to printing. If after stirring modification is necessary an addition of 501PF Curable Reducer can be added to reduce viscosity and help the ink clean from the screen. Caution: Adding too much curable reducer will reduce film strength and cancel any benefit from adding High Stretch Additive.
Squeegee: 70 durometer or 90/70/90 triple durometer blades are recommended.
Printing Technique: A print/flash/print technique may be necessary to produce desired results on dark garments.
Clean-up: Use Enviro Series 2000 Green or Enviro Series TR Blend.

CAUTION
Always ensure any additive mixed into Excalibur plastisols is thoroughly mixed and test printed for desired effect prior to running production. Because Excalibur additives have been thoroughly tested in Excalibur plastisols we cannot guarantee the same results or guarantee mixed ink will test phthalate-free if an Excalibur additive is mixed with a competitive brand of plastisol. Test print should also be tested for opacity, colour accuracy, curing, adhesion, bleed-resistance, ink film thickness and desired look prior to beginning full production runs.
