836PF High-Density Additive

Excalibur 836PF High-Density Additive when added to any color Excalibur’s 500PF or 550PF Series of phthalate-free plastisol inks transforms the flat ink into an ink capable of producing 3D-effects when printed through thick stencils produced with capillary films. Simply add 20% 836PF by weight to desired ink and mix thoroughly.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Mixes into any color to reduce inventory.  No longer is it necessary to have both a high-opacity red and a high-density red.
  • High-opacity formula easily covers dark backgrounds of 100% cotton.
  • Completely phthalate-free and lead-free formulation complies with all standards of Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) banning phthalates and heavy metals in textile-printing inks.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Gel Temperature: Ink will gel on surface at 240° F (116° C).

Curing: Ink film will fully cure when the entire ink film reaches 320° F (160° C.) and held at this temperature for at least 15 seconds.  Because high-density prints are very thick it will be necessary to slow down belt speed of dryer or increase heat to fully cure the thick ink film.

Mesh: For direct printing a 60-110/inch (24T-43Tcm) may be used.

Stencil: Thick films compatible with plastisol inks between 150-400 microns produce excellent results.  Also printers have achieved good results coating/drying/coating multiple times with high-solids direct emulsions.

Modification: If after mixing ink is too thin and not holding a straight edge add EXC Thickener in increments of 1-2% by weight until desired thickness is reached.

Squeegee: 70 durometer or 90/70/90 triple durometer blades are recommended.

Printing Technique: A print/flash/print technique with an off-contact adjustment between layers may be necessary to produce desired results.

Clean-up: Use Enviro Series 2000 Green or Enviro Series TR Blend.

Always test finished prints for curing, adhesion, bleed-resistance, ink film thickness and desired look prior to beginning full production runs. Lancer Group International cannot guarantee the results or back claims that this mixed ink will test phthalate-free if any additive other than an additive manufactured by Lancer Group International is used to modify this ink. Test results by a third-party laboratory verifying all components used to produce this ink are phthalate-free and lead-free are available upon request.
